This class will focus on teaching biblical principles and strategies for evangelism. It will intend to equip christians for the ministry of effective personal evangelism and conversational witnessing. It is a great complement to the “Way of the Master” evangelism training material. The Institute of American church Growth found that 75-90% of all new believers came to christ because of a friend or acquaintance who explained the gospel to them on a one-to-one basis. Approximately only 7% of all conversions come through events, (e.g. a Sunday morning church service, a Billy Graham crusade, a Friendship Sunday, etc.) yet it has been found that most churches devote most of their time, money, and efforts on these kinds of events. Time and experience have proven that personal evangelism is by far the single most effective means of reaching the lost. But tragically, it seems to be the most seldom practiced means used by the church and christians today. Bill Bright, the founder of campus crusade for christ, estimates that only 2% of christians witness faithfully. It is for these reasons, and others, that Andy has organized a teaching ministry called the Search & Rescue School of Evangelism. Its purpose is to “prepare God’s people for works of service” (Ephesians 4: 2) by teaching biblical and practical principles of evangelism.

GOALS:

  • To understand the biblical commands and expectations on christians regarding believers personal evangelism and the proper response.
  • To understand the role, function, and necessity of the law of God, (i.e. the Ten commandments) in evangelism and personal witnessing and how to use this God given tool effectively.
  • To learn how to overcome their fears in evangelism, how to incorporate the law into personal witnessing, how to use creative and effective gospel tracts, what the “Jesus Method” of witnessing is, and more.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:

  • Christians who want to become more effective in their personal efforts to reach non-christians for Jesus christ.
  • Pastors who want to know how to encourage, motivate, and train their congregations in biblical evangelism and personal witnessing.
  • Anyone who has a desire to obey the Great commission (Matthew 28: 9-20; Mark 6: 5) and seek to save the lost (Luke 9: 0).

ANDY LAPINS has been involved in full-time ministry for more than 10 years. During that time Andy has served as a youth and associate pastor as well as traveling as an itinerant evangelist. In May of 2001, Andy left the staff of a large and growing church to travel full-time, equipping Christians for personal evangelism. Andy and his wife Tammy live with their two sons in the Detroit area. Andy has a burning desire to help train and equip Christians and churches to bring the lost around them to a place of genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Andy is founder of Transfired Ministries – A trans-denominational ministry focused on equipping the church for biblical evangelism and discipleship and the Search & Rescue School of Evangelism. Andy has a burning passion to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10) and equip Christians for the ministry of evangelism (Ephesians 4:12). He has ministered in many states in the US as well as in England, Jamaica, and Belize.

To Whom It May Concern:

In recent years there has been a decline in evangelistic concern. The late Bill Bright revealed in his book, The Coming Revival, that only 2% of Christians in the United States share their faith regularly with others. That means that 98% don't. This is a sad commentary on the modern church, and shows how far we have moved away from the fiery committed church of the Book of Acts.

We trust that you are also alarmed by such unconcern for the fate of the lost. Charles Spurgeon said, "Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself, be sure of that."

We believe that many don't feel equipped. If you arm any soldier with a feather duster, he's not going to be very courageous. However, if you give him state-of-the-art weapons, those weapons will give him courage.

Andy Lapins has a burning passion to equip the church with powerful state-of-the-art weapons. God has gifted him with the ability to communicate a passion with others. We are honored to have him represent our ministry and we hope that you will avail yourself of his gifting.

May God continue to bless you in all you do for Him.

Yours Faithfully,
