A love story of a man of God and his wife in the sixth century BcE became the backdrop of God’s revelation of the fall of Jerusalem’s Temple. Ezekiel lost the love of his life, even as God’s Temple was stripped of its beauty. The anguish of his heart became the pallet of God’s own expressions of emptiness. Yet, the prophet was not to openly mourn. He offered words of judgment to the Gentile nations, and then quietly consoled the Jewish people with God’s coming redemption. This story is too often forgotten today, but it remains a powerful display of God’s pain and God’s faithful and enduring love!

GOALS:

  • To enjoy a passionate overview of the book of Ezekiel.
  • To understand the judgment and love of God for His people.
  • To understand how the prophetic words in Ezekiel fit into the bigger picture of the Bible and of history.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:

  • Anyone that likes a good story of drama and incredible promise.
  • Teachers and pastors who anticipate teaching the book of Ezekiel.
  • Worship leaders who lead in worship that arises from the Scriptures.
  • Learners who want to know that God keeps his promises.
