The final writing of the New Testament outlined three distinct periods of time according to the writer- a vision he saw one day at the penal colony of Patmos (in John’s recent past); a cyclical epistle from Patmos offering praises, instructions and indictments to seven churches he had ministered among before his arrest (in John’s present day); and finally a record of visions that explained three distinct rounds of judgment ordered by God for the earth as the final program of human history was unfolded by the “Worthy Lamb” of Heaven. We will look at each section, chapter by chapter, in a fast-paced but careful approach to this exciting drama!
